On October 17th, a group of new and expectant parents gathered at the Babylist Beverly Hills Showroom for Momcozy's "Essential Newborn Care Skills" workshop. Led by veteran Postpartum Doula and Senior Newborn Care Specialist Julie Aiono, the event provided expert guidance and hands-on skills for navigating the often-overlooked "fourth trimester". The session was hosted by child safety advocate and new mother of twins, Dani Morin, who shared her own recent postpartum experiences.

Expert Insights for Real-World Challenges
Aiono began by defining the "fourth trimester" as the crucial 12 weeks after birth, emphasizing the need for a postpartum plan that supports the mother's rest, nutrition, and healing. "We spend so much time and put such an emphasis on the birth," Morin noted, "that sometimes we overlook our postpartum plans."

The seminar covered essential newborn care pillars: feeding, sleep, physical care, and bonding. Aiono provided clear, reassuring advice, explaining that newborns typically need to eat every two to three hours around the clock. She also demystified the dreaded "witching hour," a common fussy period for babies, and demonstrated the "5 S's" (Swaddle, Side/Stomach, Shush, Sway, and Suck) as a practical soothing technique.
Professional Products, Practical Solutions
The event highlighted how Momcozy's professional-grade products are designed to alleviate new parent anxiety. Host Dani Morin, who is also a child passenger safety tech, praised the brand's thoughtful and safety-forward designs.
When discussing feeding support, Morin showcased the Momcozy Breastfeeding Pillow: "The breastfeeding pillow standards have recently changed, and Momcozy was one of the first to get out the new breastfeeding pillow to the new standards... it also has this safety guide in the back... I've always been scared of babies... falling off... this has that safety guide right there, which I really like".

Morin also gave a powerful testimonial for the BreezyClear™ 2-in-1 Electric Nasal Aspirator, a tool she "panic ordered" after discovering how congestion impacted feeding: "I had no idea that those little noses are gonna get so much mucus in them... [a] tiny little bugger... can cause them to miss an entire ounce of the feeding... I just have a little night light. You are gonna use this before every feeding".
Other demonstrations included Aiono's "swaddle bath" technique, which uses a muslin swaddle to keep the baby calm and warm during bathtime, and the KleanPal Pro Baby Bottle Washer, which Morin's husband uses to help manage bottle cleaning.
Honest Conversations and Building Confidence
The Q&A session fostered a supportive atmosphere where parents asked candid questions about hunger cues, signs of weight gain, and how to help a gassy baby.
One of the event's most reassuring moments came when Julie addressed a common stress point: tummy time. When asked what to do if a baby "just cannot stand" being on the floor, she offered a simple, effective alternative: "A lot of babies do not like being on the floor... the way I was showing you to do skin-to-skin, that counts as tummy time... Their neck is moving in a different direction, so this counts as tummy time in the early weeks".

The workshop's core message was one of confidence and trust. Dani shared advice Julie had recently given her: "There's no spoiling baby in the fourth trimester".
Julie expanded on this powerful concept for the group: "You cannot spoil a newborn... they don't have the ability to manipulate; they just have needs... by us responding to our babies' needs... we're building confident, secure babies who have trust".
Parents left the event feeling validated and connected, staying after the session to network, test products from the All-in-1 Elite Baby Kit, and ask Julie one-on-one questions.
