I initially purchased this item for breast milk however, during our journey, we have had to supplement with formula. I purchased the 8 oz on the go formula bottles. Obviously, newborns dont drink 8 oz. Luckily, this handy dandy cooler works PERFECT to drop the 8 oz formula bottles into so that were able to use the entire bottle instead of wasting half of it. I am truly impressed by this versatile cooler! Its super easy to use. We left home at 9AM and its still extremely cold at 1PM in the mid-summer Tennessee heat after being left in the hot vehicle. This deserves greater than a 5 star rating in my book! I would make this purchase over and over again!

I used this to get milk home after a family vacation where I had pumped a little bit while away from my baby for a few hours. I chilled the entire container and the ice cores overnight in the freezer I think freezing. The whole container is important for getting the most bang for your buck. The next day, I took it out and put the milk in at 9 AM. We traveled home with this in my carry-on bag, and in the chaos of dealing with a preschooler and a baby on an airplane, I was exhausted. And as a result, I forgot about it after I got home! At 9:30 PM that night, I remembered and panicked. I ran and got it and opened it up and was astounded to find that not only was my milk still cold, both bottles now had ice crystals in them, and the bottom one was even a slushy consistency! So I quickly put my milk in the fridge and left the container with the ice course inside on the counter to deal with in the morning. The next morning, I was cleaning up the kitchen and went to put the chiller away. Even though I had left it out with the top off all night, the ice cores were still very, very cold! Not freezer cold, but definitely refrigerator cold! This was almost 24 hours after I had taken them out out of the freezer in another state! And again, for the last 12 hours, I had left the entire top off of the container since I was too tired to put it away the night before.
